Using these techniques can produce miraculous results when nothing else works. I have found the book so useful I ordered a copy to be sent to my son who has breathing problems. He didn't accept the gift. :-) Doesn't like advice from mom. No fault with the book.The best reason for using the book is over-controlling doctors who would balk at herbs or other alternative treatments have no problem with breathing and massage, which is what is taught in this book. It works for me.
Nice book...Not a lot of the garbage that you get in more recent books. After a couple of days trying out a few of the exercises you will feel the changes within you. Not like more recent books...now that every pinhead with a rehab cert is an automatic chi kung guru. I will definitely finish my set of Stephen T. Chang books as resources allow!!!
The book is soooo easy to read and to understand. It is an essential book for everybody who wants to stay healthy without drugs.The explanations are clear and the pictures are simple. It is one of my "bibles".Thank you Universe for providing it.I will buy it as gift to friends.
Absolutely great for those interested in QiGong (Chi Kung). I use at least 3 of these exercises daily and nightly. Really can feel differences in your body after a while, and really can start to pick up on energy flow
This well written book takes you from complete beginner all the way up through the microcosmic orbit. It is presented in an old school style - classically you did lots of simple basic practices to get your body healthy enough to start doing meditations. This book has all those basic practices and beginning meditations, and it explains some - not too much - of what you are doing and why.Other reviewers have listed all the different exercises that are in the book - there are a lot - so I'll skip that.Stephen Chang was one of the first in print in English, and this book has stood the test of time. I've been studying and practicing qigong since 1987, this is one of the best beginner books I've seen.
This book is a MUST read for everybody! The Author Doctor Stephen Chang is Very knowledgeable doctor, sharing all the medical wisdom of Chinese Tao medicine, which is 6,000 years old, plus he has Western medical education,this allow him to compare: Eastern Tao medicine is all about disease prevention and look at the body & mind as a whole, but Western medicine is just about particular sick organ.
This book is a fount of information on Taoist medical practices. I wish there were 6 stars to give it instead of 5.
